Is it worth for a man to marry an Indian girl or simply to marry in India?
Being a man seems to be a crime, especially in India. Thanks to the anti-male 498A and its recorded misuse against men and the divorce laws that make rob a man of his hard-earned money, men in India are oppressed. Women are taking full advantage of all the female-centric laws. A simple marriage can invite false allegations of dowry, harassment, domestic violence, marital rape and a divorce can now cause you to not only lose your marital but also inherited/gifted property. Even dating a woman can invite allegations ranging from stalking and outraging a womans modesty to even rape. So in such a scenario, is it worth marrying an Indian girl or marrying in India?
Peacock, I am not asking for advice, but peoples opinions. It is better you respond if you are an Indian and in the know about these ridiculous laws. Else bugger off.
Lastly, I am not scared of marriage. I am scared of inviting unnecessary allegations or losing my money to some second rate woman.
Bobbie, you are spot on. But, thats not the point. Its these stupid womens group pressuring the government to pass laws that help the freeloaders. Marriage is anyways a sham over here. Its more of a corporate merger or an acquisition than an emotional bond. Phew...
Preethi and Munne, I am from India and I am observant of my surroundings and I keep myself very much up to date with the law and politics. I know that women have and are suffering social evils. But just as two wrongs dont make a right, similarly, anti-male, oppressive laws cant compensate decades of social evils against women.
Secondly, even males suffer social evils. Be it work-related deaths, labour negligence, war-related deaths, the burden of proving masculinity not just in bed but also in domestic environment and the pressure of being a provider are some problems that males face. But no one talks about them.
As far the laws are concerned, they are not helping women come up independently, but at the expense of male subjugation and oppression. Anti-rape law, dowry and DV laws are many-a-times misused to extort money from the husband. In case of a divorce, not only does the husband lose his property and have to provide his wife maintenance, but now even his ancestral proper
...even his ancestral property is at risk of being shared by his wife. This is unnecessary and greedy.
Preethi, I am open for a debate, provided you speak rationally.
Vijay, I do understand that there are a few sane-minded women who do not misuse these laws or who love in harmony in their matrimonial home. But, the urban married women are more inclined to misuse these laws, as has been very well documented by media and newspapers. I am not only talking about the Indian women but also the draconian anti-male laws that can put an innocent man in a pickle. A simple example is that a man can be arrested on allegation of DV, dowry, harassment, rape without any evidence. But a woman cant be similarly arrested.
As for our mothers and aunts and grandmothers, they are a different breed. They werent as cunning and evil as some of todays women. We are lucky to have such women as mums and nannies.
Answer: I understand what you want to say and agree with your views too but my dear friend India has 1/5th population of the world and 1/10 of the women existing in the world are Indian including your mother, sisters and other females related to you.
We cannot generalise all Indian women and make them stand in the line of criminal minded women who are destroying the fundamentals of the matrimonial home in India.
The misuse of laws made for prevention of criminal offences in matrimonial and family relationship does not mean every woman in India will indulge in such malpractices, there are many more than these few criminal minded women who are living peacefully in a normal matrimonial relationship with husbands and family relationship with other family members.
The reasons why most of the unsettled matrimonial relationship exist because of lack of marriage counselling in most such broken marital relationship, the marriage arranged by parents or other relatives or friends in most cases where both bride and groom are basically forced to marry without taking their free consent for marriage, not clarifying their own interest in the opposite party or their own previous affairs or interest in some other person, the most cases where there exist minor matrimonial rift, the parties specially women go ahead seeking marriage counselling or consultancy with people not fit to do so such as Local Police, all sort of Advocates/Lawyers, Astrologers who are Pack of lairs, etc., these people misguide the women in distress and make their life worst.
Let me give you one example from one of my case: this man with 12 years of marriage contacted me for legal guidance as his wife had moved out with one son while he was living with other son and was not re-joining him in spite of all efforts, We filled for Restitution of Conjugal Right against the wife in Family Court Gurgaon and in response to this under the misguidance of so called senior advocates of Tees Hazari Court a Complaint under the Protection of Women from the Domestic Violence Act (D.V. Act) was filed against the husband. In the mediation process in the Gurgaon court the wife told the mediator her willingness to live with husband and not to break with the husband, certain conditions for living together were discussed, I myself made both of them to realise that now in their life is their two children the most important than small time bickering between both and similar lecture was given by the Family Court Judge, they both not only agreed to live together but even started living too before the final order of mediation and RCR in the court is made, but the Advocates pair of the wife did not with draw the complaint under the D.V. Act although the wife agreed to do so in mediation process and agreement reached there.
Even till date the D.V. Act complaint is pending whereas the happy family lives together.
Now whom will you blame in such case?
